Dear Diary,
I just returned from Bulgaria. I have so many good memories. It was a wonderful trip. I wish I had stayed longer and gone to Romania, too. I sure hope Rick adds Romania and Macedonia to his tours. I’m sure Stefan would love to lead a tour to Macedonia. So, Diary, I made the right tour choice! P.

A few words that come to mind when I reflect back on my journey to Bulgaria. I am so glad I decided to join this tour and see a part of the world that is beautiful, peaceful, friendly, and well, the words say it all...

Traditional folklore ritual and festival dress
Kukeri are folkloric “monsters” that dance and jump around to ward off evil spirits. They would definitely scare me, especially at night!
The opera Karmen, sung in French, performed in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, at a Roman amphitheater. Can it get any better than this?

An interesting sink. A tube went through the stone wall and connected to the water somewhere. It took me a while to figure out how to turn it on, but I did get water!
