Dear Diary,
I just made a decision to go to Bulgaria. I’m really excited. I told some friends of my plans and they looked at me blankly. “You’re going where? Why would you want to go there?” I could tell that they wanted to ask me where Bulgaria even was, but I think they were too embarrassed to admit they didn’t know. Sigh.
They did have a lot of questions - the who, what, when, where, and, of course, the why. I didn’t tell them that I don’t know much about Bulgaria either (I do know where it is, though).
It will be another adventure of learning and discovery. An open mind, a love of history and culture - that’s all I need, Diary. I guess I better read the Rick Steves traveler reviews, check on the weather, look for flight deals… I wonder if you can drink the water? What do they use for money, the Euro? Hmmm, Diary, I guess I have a lot of questions, too.
